AUSTIN, TX – Senator Juan “Chuy” Hinojosa was presented with the Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) of Texas Free Enterprise Champion Award by Jon Fisher, President of ABC of Texas, for Senator Hinojosa’s work during the 85th Texas Legislature. During the 85th Session, Senator Hinojosa authored Senate Bill (SB) 1506, which would have updated and simplified Texas’ archaic and complex laws related to mechanic’s, contractor’s, or materialman’s liens.
ABC members are involved in commercial and industrial construction and include general contractors, subcontractors, suppliers and industry professionals united in their belief of Free Enterprise Principles and the Merit Shop Philosophy. ABC of Texas is comprised of 8 ABC Chapters in Texas — Greater Houston, TEXO (DFW area & East Texas), Southeast Texas (Golden Triangle area), Texas Gulf Coast (Freeport area), Texas Mid Coast (Victoria area), Texas Coastal Bend (Corpus Christi area), South Texas (San Antonio area) and Central Texas (Austin area).
